Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of the privately operated Polk County Court Docket reference resource. Using the site, its content, or a linked service means accepting these terms. Court and clerk processes remain governed by official North Carolina law and court rules.

No FCRA use. This private resource is not affiliated with a government agency or court and is not a consumer reporting agency. Do not use the site or a linked tool for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act regulated decision.

1. What This Website Is

The site is an independently operated Polk County court-access reference. It does not run the eCourts Portal, keep official docket files, schedule hearings, accept filings, or act for the Polk County Clerk of Superior Court.

2. Informational Use Only

Content is general reference information, not an official docket, court order, or legal opinion. Confirm a case event, deadline, setting, copy, or payment question with the proper court or clerk before relying on it.

3. Rules for Using This Site

Users may not use the site unlawfully, harass or threaten another person, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or run automated collection tools against the pages. Users also may not use information from the site for a prohibited screening purpose.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Polk County Court Docket does not create consumer reports or offer background-screening services. The FCRA restriction covers decisions concerning credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, licensing, permits, or similar regulated purposes. Any permitted screening use requires an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider, not this reference resource.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing on the site creates an attorney-client relationship or substitutes for a North Carolina lawyer. Court filings, deadlines, charges, and orders may have consequences that require advice from a licensed attorney.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

Court records and schedules can change as filings, continuances, sealing orders, and other events occur. External links and third-party services can change as well. Information may be incomplete or outdated, and the official Polk custodian is the source for confirmation.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Linked courts, clerks, Portal services, and third-party search tools are separate providers. Their terms, data handling, availability, prices, and content are their own responsibility.

8. Intellectual Property

Site text, graphics, logos, and code are protected by applicable law. No ownership right is granted beyond ordinary personal use of the site.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site, a linked service, or information that should have been confirmed with an official source.

10. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify the operators against claims, demands, losses, and reasonable costs arising from their misuse of the site or breach of these terms, where law permits.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without changing the court or clerk rules that govern a particular Polk County case.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be updated by publishing a revised version on this page. Continued use after publication is acceptance of the revised terms.
